Busiest Time of the Year

As the sun rose this morning in Western Colorado a beautiful sight greeted us - snow dusted our Bookcliff Mountains, Monument and Mesa, making them shimmer in the morning light. At Main Paige the first snow indicates the start of our busiest season… no not Christmas, but the fashion show for Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado. Beth has chosen wonderful music to fit the theme “The Love Stories of Our Lives”. We fit over 25 models in fantastic outfits and choreograph their walk down the runway. Models and dressers donate many hours of their time for fittings, rehearsals and the two shows. Women of all sizes and ages participate in this annual event.  Hundreds of pieces of clothing and accessories must be cataloged and organized. It is a huge effort, but well worth it when we see the final outcome on November 19th and 20th at the Doubletree Hotel. Each year tens of thousands of dollars are raised by Main Paige and the volunteers to support the Child and Teen Program. Hospice and Palliative Care is a vital element in our community and we are proud to be one of its partners.

Fall

Fall is Mother Nature’s most vibrant season. She transitions from green into  magnificent maroon, shimmering gold and bright orange,  colors made all the more impressive when viewed against a Colorado blue sky. The cool temperatures and crisp air encourage us to get out and soak up this fabulous show of color. We take deeper breaths, transitioning from the activity of summer to a quiet stroll through the woods, a picnic on the Mesa and the all important pumpkin hunt. Everyone seems to love Fall, embracing the beauty of Mother Nature’s spectacular changes.

Similarly, as the wonderful women we are, we should celebrate our personal transitions from one season to another with that same joy. Be glorious in your colors; make a big splash against your evergreen back drop. Take a page from Mother Nature’s book ….if you are going to have to change, do so in stunning fashion.

Jewelry To Dream About

On Fridays I like to sit and dream about wonderful places to visit, beautiful things to wear, and art to see over the weekend. Today I'd like to introduce you to one of my favorite jewelry designers, Sydney Lynch. She combines two of my dreams - art and jewelry! Each of her pieces is hand made, unique and beautiful. She uses 22k and 18k gold, oxidized sterling silver, and semi-precious stones in every necklace, bracelet, broach, and set of earrings. Wearing beautiful jewelry gives a woman confidence, style, and a sense of individuality.

As nice as it is to receive something sparkly from a loved one, buying a piece of art, like Sydney's jewelry, for oneself is very empowering. This weekend give yourself a gift, something small like a flower or larger like a necklace with a cluster of flowers. You can make your Dreams come true. Sydney Lynch is the answer to my dream.
